liposuction and liposculpture

Conceptually, liposuction is the technique in which the excess fat is sucked under the skin. Liposculpture is withdrawn when the fat is applied in other areas of the body, such as depression caused by cellulite. Before the surgery or liposuction, liposculpture the doctor spreads in the areas targeted a solution composed of lidocaine (a local anesthetic), saline and epinephrine (drug that contracts blood vessels reducing the bleeding). Then, a tube is inserted into incisions in the skin. The doctor pushes and pulls the cannula by deposits of fat which, together with other body fluids, is sugada through a device connected to a suction tube.

There are various techniques for liposuction available today. In technical “dry”, which few doctors currently use, no fluid is injected in the target area. In the wet liposuction surgeon injects a small amount of fluid, which usually contains small amount of epinephrine. The super-wet technique evolved because the doctors found that injecting more fluid, less blood was lost. Many doctors are offering a modified version of liposuction that uses ultrasound in addition to the injected solution and suction, but this technique causes concern in some medical authorities for not knowing with certainty the long-term effect of ultrasound in the tissues.
